Ever since Summerland was aired, it brought the actors into stardom through its unique story and plot. The WB series comprised of two seasons that ran from 2004 to 2005, featuring Ava Gregory (Lori Loughlin), the guardian of two nephews Derrick Westerly (Nick Benson) and Bradin (Jesse McCartney) and a niece named Nikki (Kay Panabaker). She brought the Westerly kids from Kansas to live with her in Summerland, California.
Being a struggling fashion designer, Ava was finding it hard to manage all the chores but, she was lucky to have supportive roommates and friends who helped her to take care of the trio. She used to live with their business partner and also her BFF, Susannah Rexford (Merrin Dungey), former pro-surfing mate Jay Robertson (Ryan Kwanten) and ex-boyfriend Johnny Durant (Shawn Christian).
The cast was further extended to Taylor Cole, Erika Spalding in the series- formerly Jay’s love and later was attracted towards Bradin and Zac Efron, as Cameron Bale, Nikki’s boyfriend. Although Efron left Summerland after season 01, he managed to leave an unforgettable impression on the audience.

Lori Loughlin: Loughlin was the finest actor who got the biggest successes after doing the show. She played in five seasons of 90210 as Debbie Wilson and did major characters in Garage Sale Mystery TV movies, When Calls the Heart and Fuller House between 2014 and 2018. Apart from acting, Loughlin was accused of the 2019’s college admission scandal along with her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, and was sentenced to two months imprisonment along with $400,000 fine. After coming back, she announced her return to acting in the late 2021 with GAC’s When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas.
Merrin Dungey: She did a lot of work after the success of Summerland. She acted a Kelly Palmer in 9 seasons of the King of Queens and appeared on Chasing Life, Hollywood Heights, The Resident, Big Little Lies and Conviction. She is now married and a mother of 2 beautiful daughters.
Ryan Kwanten: After performing on different shows, Kwanten got a huge break with HBO’s True Blood as Jason Stackhouse. Other than that, he was part of The Oath, 2021’s Them, Sacred Lies and The Hurricane Heist.
Jesse McCartney: McCartney made a huge success not only in acting but in music as well. After competing in The Masked Singer, McCartney got popular as a good singer and recently, he released his 5th studio album named New Stage. He is now married to Katio Peterson after dating for 9 years.
Shawn Christian: Shawn proved himself a remarkable actor through Days of Our Lives, Venice the Series, Ruby Herring Mysteries: Silent Witness and Famous in Love. However, his personal life isn’t that good. Shawn parted his ways from Deborah Quinn in 2013 after spending 17 years together. He has a son named Kameron.
Kay Panabaker: During the time of Summerland, the actress started to get good offers. He was starred in Disney’s Read It and Weep and Phil of the Future. He has 42 acting credits, including a recurring CSI: Crime Series Investigation role and No Ordinary Family. However, he left acting in 2021, graduated from UCLA and is now serving as a zookeeper.
Nick Benson: Benson also did some great work before leaving Hollywood. He completed his graduation in 2016 from MIT.
Taylor Cole: After getting a good break from Summerland, the actress landed on some amazing projects, namely Heroes: The Recruit, The Originals and The Glades. She also performed in Mysteries series and Hallmark Movies followed by some TV movie installments. Cole tied the knot with Cameron Larson, her longtime love, in 2020.
Zac Efron: After leaving Summerland after season 01, he performed in High School Musical and became a megastar. Later on, he reprised his acting skills in two Disney Channel sequels.
