Our favorite angel and demon duo are back as production of Good Omens Season 2 has officially kicked-off.
Neil Gaiman's official Twitter released a photo of stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant as the angel Aziraphale with his white curls and favorite trench coat, and Crowley with his shock of red hair and round sunglasses on set having a chat while dressed up as their characters with the caption "You waited. And now you see @michaelsheen and David Tennant, being perfectly affable."
Good Omens’ second season will explore a new storyline as its opening season has exhausted the story that was based on the 1990 Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch written by Neil Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett.
"In this season we get to have new adventures with old friends, to solve some extremely mysterious mysteries, and we encounter some entirely new humans (living, dead, and otherwise), angels, and demons." said Neil Gaiman, the co-author of the book and also an executive producer of the show.
The first season finale, after both Aziraphale and Crowley prevented the dreaded end of the world, hinted that an even bigger apocalypse is yet to come. A war between humanity, and angels and demons.
This second season's story is believed to be based on the follow-up novel that Gaiman and Pratchett started to work on right after Good Omens was written which was never published due to circumstances. It also delves deeper on Aziraphale and Crowley's uncanny friendship.
Cast from the first season are returning, of course, together with the main characters Tennant and Sheen, who are reprising their roles while others are said to be playing new characters.
Some cast members who will return are Paul Adeyefa, Michael McKean, Gloria Obianyo, Miranda Richardson, Maggie Service, Reece Shearsmith and Nina Sosanya.
